First Anniversary | Emma + Ryan | July 5, 2019

On July 5, 2019, we watched Emma and Ryan say “I do” in our chapel, surrounded by the ones they love most. These two had a wedding day that reflected them- filled with warmth, celebration, love, and the utmost adoration for each other. Every detail was a dream and we were so thankful to be a part of such a special union.

For their first anniversary, Emma and Ryan relived the memories of their day with us, and today we are so excited to share them with you!

From Emma:

Ryan and I met during our sophomore year of college while interning together for a minor league baseball team in Northwest Arkansas. It wasn’t long after we met (5 days to be exact) that Ryan sent me a message on Instagram asking me “about work” and sending me his number. Our love story was a quick and beautiful one, and we both realized it was something we wanted to hold onto forever.

We wanted our wedding to be a big celebration of love and joy with all of our friends and family. Our wedding was a testament of the love and adoration we have for one another.

Ryan and I chose not to do a first look, but I did do one with my dad. It was such a sweet and special moment, and one that I am so thankful to have shared with him.

Being the middle of summer in Texas, having a beautiful indoor space was really important to us. The Laurel’s chapel is breathtaking and exactly what we envisioned! We wanted a venue that was classic and elegant, while also providing us all the space we needed to get ready.  Our event manager was amazing. She answered every question we had leading up to the wedding, and gave us confidence that our day would go smoothly. We are so thankful for her and all of her help!

Funny story, Ryan actually went bowling with his groomsmen the morning of our wedding (perks of not having to do hair and makeup). I think he had a pretty awesome day with the boys! As for me, I loved having that time with my bridesmaids, and it was great to just hang out and spend quality time with them. Some of my other family members would pop in during the day just to say hi, and I remember being calmed by having everyone I loved most near me.

Another one of our favorite moments was seeing all of our friends and family that came from all over to celebrate with us. Many of them we hadn’t seen in a long time, so it meant the world to us to be able to spend time with them.

After a night of dancing and fun, Ryan and I shared one last private dance together. It was such an intimate and quiet moment, and allowed us to reflect on the beautiful day. I loved it.

Being graduates from the University of Arkansas, getting to call the hogs at the end of the night was such a fun and special way to be sent off! Definitely a moment we will always remember.

Our wedding was magical. Although the day seemed to fly by, it was pure bliss from beginning to end.

To future couples, make sure to take the time during your wedding day to really enjoy and cherish each moment. It can feel like a whirlwind, but it truly is the most special day!
