Real Weddings | Sherri + Mark | September 21, 2019
Fall weddings are special, and this one was no exception. Sherri and Mark wed in an intimate ceremony on a sunny September day in 2019. Almost a year later, we are still in awe of the stunning details, moody tones, and love surrounding this celebration.
As we approach their one-year anniversary, we wanted to celebrate with a few highlights from their day. Enjoy!
These two were as thoughtful and caring as they come. Not only were they intentional in the planning and overall design of the day, but they also put so much heart into the details, especially for their guests. For example, the attendees were provided with a custom crossword puzzle fan to keep them cool and entertained while waiting for the ceremony to start. It was details like this that made the guests feel like they were a part of their big day!
Sherri and Mark - “We were thankful to both have gorgeous suites to get ready in. Having a mirror for each bridesmaid made the morning seamless. Mark ended up having a larger crew than I did, with groomsmen and ushers all in his groom’s suite. They had a blast.”
While the care for their guests was evident, their adoration for each other was all the more apparent. From the excitement getting ready in the suites to the celebratory grand exit, the pure love between these two was undeniable and infectious. I mean, just look at these first look photos!
As for the details- inside and out, The Laurel was adorned with beautiful florals by Root + Bloom. Their stunning ceremony chuppah from Father of the Bride Rentals was the perfect outdoor backdrop for their traditional Jewish ceremony.
From Sherri - “The Laurel had everything we wanted in a wedding venue- it struck the perfect balance with gorgeous high ceilings and exposed wooden beams. An outdoor wedding was really important to Mark, but I wanted to be sure that our location had a rain-plan that didn’t feel like an after-thought. Once I saw the chapel, I secretly hoped for a liiittle rain. The gorgeous indoor Great Hall had plenty of room for guests to eat, mingle, and dance. It was also close to hotels and the airport which was so convenient for our mostly out-of-state guest list.”
The cocktail hour was a perfect way to kick off the evening festivities, complete with string lights on the patio and an epic charcuterie board for guests to enjoy while Sherri and Mark slipped away for sunset photos with Madison Katlin Photography. While Sherri explained that the entire weekend was a whirlwind, they are so thankful that their photographer made them set aside time to be together, away from the rest of the party. “Moments like that slowed down the day and are probably my most vivid memories from it all.”
The dessert lineup from Uncle Willie’s was definitely a hit of the evening. The guests were provided with their choice of wedding cake, cheesecake, or a mini pie before making their way to the dance floor, where Complete Weddings kept them energetic and on their feet surrounding Sherri and Mark.
Sherri and Mark, we hope you have the happiest first anniversary celebrating this journey you’re taking together. We are thankful for the opportunity to celebrate couples like you, and we wish you all the best in years to come!
