Real Wedding | Maddison + Trevor | August 11, 2018
Touches of soft, natural details and endless sparks of joy made for the most enchanting day for Maddison and Trevor. On August 11, 2018 these two danced the night away with their closest friends and family after a beautiful ceremony where they vowed to spend the rest of their lives together.
If you believe in a little thing called love, then you will love Maddison and Trevor’s story. An undeniable appreciation and admiration for one another, these two tell their story best and we wanted to share it with you. Enjoy!
Maddie: Trevor and I met at Baylor when my big sister in my sorority took him to a function and I took one of his friends. We ended up going in the same group. I remember thinking he seemed so full of joy and was completely himself. It’s refreshing to meet people who aren’t afraid to show their personality and I love how he didn’t take life too seriously and showed me how to find joy in even the most mundane things.
Trevor: I was drawn to Maddie at first because of how beautiful she is and how much fun she is to be around. Then, over time I got to know her heart and how much she loves people and cares for others. Maddie is one of the most considerate and loving people I know, and that, paired with her goofy personality and drop dead beauty, is what drew me to her!
M: The vision for our wedding day was a light, airy and natural look. I loved the Laurel because it is classic and beautiful but also very simple which gave us the room to make it our own. I loved the outdoor area as it reminded me of being in the Austin Hill Country and was a perfect backdrop for our cocktail hour. I also loved that everything was all in one place but with two separate spaces for the ceremony and reception. This made it easy for our guests and vendors and logistically made the day run smoothly!
M: My favorite moment before the ceremony was being with my dad in the bridal suite waiting for our cue. I have always been a daddy’s girl and it was so special to have a moment with just the two of us before he gave me away. I also loved the moment when my bridesmaids prayed over me before the ceremony. It is so special to have friends that care so deeply about not only me, but about our marriage and are there cheering for us as we go.
T: I enjoyed hanging out with my buds in the Pecan Suite the hours leading up to the wedding. We were listening to music and cutting up, and it was just fun to be in a room full of guys who I have been on separate journeys with who I love and know they all love me. It’s not every day you get to be surrounded by all the people that you love at once, and it was a special time. I also enjoyed the moment before walking into the chapel when I was talking with my mom and could see how happy she was. She has put countless hours of work and prayer into me, and it was special to get one last moment with her before she passed me off to Maddie forever.
Maddie: Not going to lie, I was very nervous about walking down the aisle. I have never been one who likes being the center of attention so the thought of everyone’s eyes on me was a little nerve racking. But when the doors opened and I saw Trevor the nerves disappeared and it felt like it was just us in the room. It was such a sweet moment and one I will remember forever.
The most important thing that we wanted in our reception was for everyone to have fun. People traveled from all over Texas and the world to come share in this moment with us—and we just wanted to kick back and have a good time with everyone. We wanted the dance floor to be lively, because Trevor and I love to dance, and our DJ did an awesome job of making sure that happened. Overall, it was a surreal experience getting to celebrate with our friends, family and people that we love.
T: What I remember most about our wedding day is the 15 minutes Maddie and I got to sit in the Pecan Suite alone between the ceremony and reception. With all of the hustle and bustle of wedding planning, moving to a new city, Maddie starting a new job, and me starting school, it was a sweet moment when time seemed to stop. We sat on the sofa, embraced, and it started to become real that we get to spend forever together. With all of the distractions of wedding planning, it was a moment when I got to truly appreciate what it was all about — the girl who I had sitting next to me. It was one of my favorite moments of the wedding and one I won’t soon forget.
M: What I remember the most about our wedding day was our private last dance and I highly recommend it to all my engaged friends. Our wedding day was amazing but it was also a lot of running around, socializing and making sure our guests felt welcomed and were having fun. So ending the night with a moment for just the two of us to enjoy and focus on each other was perfect!
