Real Wedding || Hannah and Zach || December 2, 2017
From Hannah’s first quiet prayer about meeting her future husband to her unbeatable performance of Beyonce’s “Love on Top” on the dance floor of their reception, the Riebes’ wedding story is one that will simultaneously have you looking for tissues and wanting to bust a move!
Hannah was kind enough to share the journey that lead them to The Laurel, their incredible ideas for making sure their guests had fun, and some moments she and Zach will treasure forever.
From Hannah:
In January of 2015, I began praying that I would meet my future husband. I prayed that I would meet him, but not specifically that I would fall in love that year. That summer, my friend Jessica told me all about this great guy, Zach Riebe. We met November 21st, 2015, dated all of 2016, and were married December 2, 2017. It is pretty crazy how God works!
The best moment of the day was when the chapel doors opened and I began walking with my Dad down the aisle to Zach. That is the moment you dream about as a little girl and it was better than I could have ever imagined. Another extra-special detail was that my Dad was not only father of the bride, but he officiated our wedding! That made for a very emotional and memorable ceremony.
I grew up in Colorado, so I really wanted a venue that would give us some kind of outdoor element and Colorado feel — a venue where we could have the ceremony, cocktail hour and the reception all in one place. We had a guest list of over 300, so we also needed a place that could accommodate such a large crowd. When we found The Laurel, it far exceeded anything we could have wanted!
It was so much fun getting to do a first look out on the lawn of The Laurel. It is the perfect area to have a private moment before the craziness of the day begins. We both teared up seeing each other for the first time. It was the sweetest and most precious time because we both knew we were right where we were supposed to be at that moment.
The Laurel's bridal and groom suites were the perfect place for us to get ready (even with 14 bridesmaids!!). We had so much fun getting to hang out on-site all day.
The reception was very important to us throughout our planning because we wanted to bring the FUN! We had the most amazing band, In10City, we had a live event painter, a Butt Sketch artist, a Christmas Sleigh photo booth and even corn hole out on the lawn.
One of my favorite moments of our reception was getting to do a dance to Beyonce's 'Love on Top' with my siblings.
I looked into several vendors but once I saw the old red Cadillac that Blue Diamond had, I knew it was the perfect getaway car for us. I loved that we could sit on top of the back seat and wave goodbye to our guests. Great way to end a great evening!
Having a December wedding in Texas requires a lot of faith in the weather! Fortunately for us, the weather cooperated beautifully. Everything on the day of our wedding was wonderful. The Laurel staff continuously checked on us to be sure all was going just as it should. If I were to do it all over again, I would pick The Laurel every time!
